Spring Cleaning Checklist for Denver Homes

July 2026
By Grace, Anita & Linda

After a Denver winter of closed windows, forced-air heat, and fine dry dust, spring is when a home really needs a reset. This checklist is built for our climate specifically — the dust, the pollen, the hard-water buildup — so you can open the windows to a home that actually feels fresh.

Start high, work low. Dust falls, so clean ceiling fans and shelves before floors — otherwise you'll be vacuuming twice.

Whole-Home Reset

  • Dust ceiling fans, light fixtures, and the tops of cabinets and doors
  • Wipe baseboards, trim, and door frames throughout
  • Clean air vents and swap your furnace filter after winter heating
  • Wash interior windows, sills, and tracks — let the spring light in
  • Declutter room by room; donate what didn't get used all winter

Kitchen

  • Deep clean inside the oven, fridge, and microwave
  • Wipe cabinet fronts and interiors; toss expired pantry items
  • Pull out and clean behind/under small appliances
  • Descale the coffee maker and dishwasher (Denver's hard water loves to build up)

Bathrooms

  • Tackle hard-water film on glass doors, shower heads, and fixtures
  • Deep scrub tile and grout
  • Wash or replace shower liners and bath mats
  • Clear out and wipe down cabinets and drawers

Bedrooms & Living Areas

  • Wash comforters, mattress protectors, and pillows
  • Vacuum under beds and behind furniture
  • Spot-clean upholstery and rotate cushions
  • Dust electronics, blinds, and window treatments

The Denver Difference: Allergies & Dry Air

Spring in Colorado means tree pollen and blowing dust, and our dry air keeps fine particles airborne longer. Focus your spring reset on the things that trap allergens — vents, filters, soft furnishings, and window tracks — and you'll breathe easier all season. Microfiber and a fragrance-free routine help sensitive households most (more in our non-toxic cleaning guide).

DIY or Call It In?

A full spring clean is a big project — most take the better part of a weekend. If you'd rather spend that time outside enjoying the first warm days, a one-time deep clean covers this entire list in a single visit.
